Like a metal shroud to envelope my body
cold, black walls to warm my bones;
Here is where surrender frees,
imprisoned by the gift of allowance.
In this space, which you have granted
there is all I’ve ever needed,
a respite from daily comforts
as a reminder of my true nature.
I have never felt at home,
nor escaped the worried restlessness,
‘til You gave me these four walls,
which lay my mind to rest.
